Summary of the April Meetings
School Safety Task Force Recommendations

Earlier this year, FCS Superintendent Jeff Bearden and Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman, commissioned a School Safety Task Force to complete a comprehensive safety assessment of all Forsyth County school campuses/facilities and procedures. On April 17, the Task Force recommendations were presented to the Forsyth County Board of Education.

Recommendations are divided into three areas: facilities, staffing and prevention/training. To complete the facility recommendations, funds allocated in the May 22 Bond Referendum for safety were increased from $2 million to $7 million.
